Our Hasbro Children’s Hospital Donation was a Huge success and the 94

“Family Gift Bags” our Auxiliary and helping hands put together were

Distributed to families there at the Hospital just shortly after we departed

So let’s give a hand to our Auxiliary and Supporters who put this together.

We still have $90 of a donation by the Ponnagansett High School and our

Vice Commander Peter Shaw will head up that shopping and donation from

The flyer we put out. No more money needs to come out of our pockets for

This other than making it an even $100 by adding a ten spot. But we need to

Agree on a deadline in order to contact Robin Moyer for the drop off time.

I have here a copy of the thank you letter if anyone has not seen it yet. Although

I believe I e-mailed it out to all of those who I had the address for.

I am attaching the flyer I had sent also…this time our focus is on the Children

At the hospital with a wish list we received from the staff there.

I would like to thank all of you who supported the Sgt. Michael Wiedemann funeral with the Patriot Guard riders. Again..Some of us are members of the Patriot Guard Riders and there is No cost to become a member..You simply log onto the website www.patriotguard.org

And sign up..The only thing else you need is to support our fallen hero’s with no commitment to attend every function, due to the fact that some are during the workday

And it can be difficult to get the time out of work. The families DO notice the support!

I would like to ask a guest speaker to attend our December meeting. My plan is to contact a member of the Veterans Affairs Councilor department to ask him to come and speak and offer information, but I will need to give him our December date and what if any requirements there are of us. And of course I would like a good attendance of members to be here for this occasion.

Our State Rep. Mike Dalmazzi has come up with Raffle tickets with cash prizes.

Our drawing for this will be the February meeting I believe to be the 18th and

Those ticket holders need not be present to claim the prize.

The cash prizes will total $500.00 all together; our goal will be to sell double that to make our account grow a bit so that next year we can continue our donation drives without reaching deep into our own pockets. So Mike will print up these tickets and we must try to sell as many as possible through February. Note: February meeting will be our 1 year anniversary as a Chapter in Rhode Island .

Tickets are $1.00 each or a book of 6 for $5.00

Just a note: The print paper and ink is coming out of Mike’s Pocket.

Our 2nd Annual Rhode Island Veterans Home Donation run will be scheduled for Thursday December 14th at 5pm .

I have been in touch with them and they will provide us with a Fantastic Vets Home meal when we arrive. I have $130.00 which was put together for a parting gift from my service from the Military. Due to some comments and a big stink made by some of the management I decided I would not keep the money and e-mailed a note to the military facility thanking them for the donation to the Veterans Home.

Note: That should have gone up managements ASS a mile!

The unveiling of the Combat Infantryman’s Monument will be presented in the spring.

At the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter . We of course have a paving brick in place and I will send out details when that time comes. And we can make a ride of it.

We are hosting the Regional Meeting here in Rhode Island Possibly in the August of 2007 timeframe and need to plan now for it. Catering, prizes, etc…

I have ordered the “Military Pack” from the postal Service and received boxes, custom forms, etc.. To send our members and friends in Iraq with the 1207th.

The plan is to send a box to the unit, and separate boxes to each of our members of the CVMA there. This needs to get put together soon. And I will need the Auxiliary to help us out on this.

The Auxiliary would like to put on a Spaghetti dinner to support our fund also at possibly the Pawtucket VFW hall if we can get the facility without cost…Steve Beauregard is a member? Or contact Major Colby in regards to this?

Auxiliary comments?....

Awards:

As you may or may not know…We: John Westlake,Mike dalmazzi, and myself were required to a sit-down with the Hells Angels of Rhode Island last month. All went well,

We layed out our information, what we are and what we do..the fact we are not an MC but a Veterans Organization. We have their blessing and should not have any more members questioned on our patch or purpose..and even have their support if needed.

As you may know, during the Toys for tots drive, John decided to ride his bike in the most brutal driving rain we have seen This year,He then was the last to leave the tent and was surrounded by 6 hells angels..and was the contact for the meeting for our group. In which we traveled to their club house one night and entered the Gate..Pitbull and all.

So I present to John a set of Brass Balls!

Now, on our Hasbro Childrens Hospital Run, Rick Davius showed up with his bike missing a mirror, a few bolts, and almost killed Wayne Leary with flying bolts and parts.

So we present Rick (who is away out of state) with his own roadside kit.

At the Operation Holiday Cheer donation, Al Thibeault had called me early in the morning and said he needed to take the car other than the bike due to the amount of items he had bought after a collection at work that night..he had about $250 worth of items from the list and needed help getting into the Armory. I think every Rhode Island veteran serving in Iraq will get something Al had donated..Hero of the day!

So to Al  Vets don’t forget tee shirt…

Ride Safe..Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Families!
