CVMA Meeting Agenda

8 October 2006

September 24th Regional meeting in New Hampshire :

  1. Life membership requirements: 1 sanctioned (B.O.D.) run per year…3 sanctioned runs over a 3 year period…one of them being the Nationals.
  2. Protocol and MC 101 are required reading for ALL and new members.
  3. Chapters are allowed 1 Support member for every 5 Full-Members. In order to be a Support member, you must have known your sponsor for at least 6 months, or attended 3 rides with the CVMA members of that Chapter.
  4. The State Representative will verify any State Membership DD214 before any applications go foreword.
  5. State patches are being made and can be worn ONLY on the front of the vest or jacket. Patches may be in the form of state abbreviations. R.I., Ma. Ct.
  6. There will be NO more extra Chapters formed per State. In the event a larger state has members from areas in different locations across the state, they will become “Detachments” of that Chapter (Pockets of membership).
  7. NCOM (National Coalition of Motorcycles) has been approved by the B.O.D. and the national CVMA organization has joined the NCOM group. It is up to individuals and Chapters to join NCOM if they want to, but be advised such MC organizations such as Bandito’s,Outlaws, and 1% Mc’s also belong to this NCOM organization. Red & White will not support NCOM.
  8. Communication to Board of Directors will ONLY be through the State Representative. No member should be e-mailing the B.O.D. members direct.
  9. The Rhode Island Chapter will Host the 2007 Regional meeting next year and we must start preparation for this NOW!

Issues:

The drop off donation run for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital will be on Monday October 16th at 11am . The staff cannot support a weekend run and can only schedule a weekday drive. Everyone is encouraged to attend, and we will meet that morning at Bick fords parking lot off of Jefferson Blvd. at 9:30 am . We will need at least one pick-up truck or Cager to haul the gift bags…we have an approximate 80 gift bags to date. Any extra items will be put together for a 1207th Family support group care package drive in November and a Veterans Home drive for the December time-frame.

Again, another member of our organization had been pulled over by the local Hells Angels MC. A meeting was to be planned and as of this time no contact for a date and location has been made. It is my intent that we reach out to any local MC’s and discuss our Mission and intent to ease any threat of our presence by any motorcycle clubs. We have made contact with the R.I. State Police in regards to our organization in the same regards. A business card with our website should be carried by our members for this type of situation.

E-Mails:

The Adjutant General and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the welcome home ceremony for the 43d MP Bde on Sunday morning.  The turnout was fantastic and the overall show of support was outstanding.  It is imperative that we continue to be there, both coming and going, to pat them on the back, to shake their hands and to wish them well.  Again thank you very much for your attendance Sunday and for what you do each and every day in support of this program.”

Colonel Brian W. Goodwin the Chief of Staff RI Army National Guard.
